A UNIQUE BOTANICAL GARDEN
The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle, located east of Merano, unfold like an amphitheatre around the water lily pond, featuring over 80 botanical landscapes from all over the world. This remarkable garden blends natural and cultural landscapes, rare plant species, and themed areas that showcase the native vegetation of South Tyrol.
In addition to the floral wonders, the gardens are also home to the Touriseum — South Tyrol’s Museum of Tourism — located within the castle itself. Interactive stations, artistic pavilions, and panoramic viewpoints make the visit an engaging experience for all ages.
In 2013, the Garden Tourism Conference in Toronto awarded Trauttmansdorff the title of “International Garden of the Year”, recognising the exceptional uniqueness of this attraction.
